Breaking the Boundaries of Visual Perception
For her senior thesis project at the University of Michigan School of Art and Design, Emily Milton created 9 paintings based on three Ann Arbor-specific areas; the Farmer’s Market, Maya Lin’s Wave Field and the corner of State Street and Liberty Street. By using geometric shapes of varying colors, sizes and forms, Milton confronts the viewer with a new visual understanding of landscape.
